In a public/private partnership with Linde, Inc., the Authority constructed a state-of-the-art oxygen production and supply facility in Sayreville, which is powered by the recycled energy from the Landfill Gas-to-Energy project.

Oxygen is a major component in the wastewater treatment process. The element was previously supplied by an on-site cryogenic oxygen plant. The new facility provides greater efficiency and improved safety standards to the Wastewater Treatment Facility’s operation. In addition, the Authority has reduced its oxygen and energy expenditures by roughly 20 percent, which accumulates into cost savings of several hundred thousand dollars annually.
