Public Hearing Notice 7/23

TAKE NOTICE that the Middlesex County Utilities Authority (MCUA) has filed a request with the New Jersey Department of Environmental Protection for funding through the New Jersey Water Bank for the proposed Renewable Natural Gas Facility project. The proposed project will convert Landfill Gas (LFG) to natural gas at the MCUA’s Central Treatment Plant (CTP) from the Middlesex County Landfill (MCLF) located in East Brunswick, NJ as well as the Industrial Land Reclaim Facility (ILR) located in Edison, NJ. The Renewable Natural Gas generated from this facility will be delivered to the PSE&G natural gas service local to the facility. The project is intended to replace an existing Cogeneration Facility that is functionally obsolete and reduce overall plant-wide air emissions. The total estimated cost of the project is $135 million, of which $135 million will be funded by the New Jersey Water Bank.
